Kennett Square Engagement Session | Ashley and Ben

An engagement is a major step in your life! And sometimes, for different reasons, couples tend to forget to document this new development in their lives. But as a photographer, a part of my job is to remind you that an engagement session is important and an activity you will not regret! Not only is it the perfect opportunity for you to get some ‘Insta-worthy’ photos that you can share with your friends and family for the announcement, but it's also the perfect chance to spend some quality time with your significant other. While love should be celebrated every day, in the daily rush of our lives, we tend to forget to celebrate love and our relationships. That's why, when you do get engaged, I would wholeheartedly recommend you to get a shoot done! Let those memories and photographs remind you of this very exciting time of your life for years to come.

Ashley and Ben's Kennett Square Engagement Session

While some couples like to go all out and do a lot of research and planning for their engagement session locations, other couples like to keep it low-key and go with something that uniquely resonates with their relationship (and that's how some couples end up going to the at-home engagement sessions!). Ashley and Ben also picked a location that they connect with personally.

On the day of their engagement session, we met at their apartment in Kennett Square. We walked around some of their favorite spots around town and took some lovely couple portraits. Once we checked off all the places on the list, we headed over to the Nature Lands Cheslen Preserve. I have to say, hats off to Ashley and Ben, who braved the cold and still managed to pose so perfectly for me. It was super cold and windy, and the couple actually had to put on their jackets in between shots. That blanket you see in the photographs, while it was a great prop, it was primarily used for warmth! So, it was encouraging to see both of them still so comfortable and happy taking pictures.

Even though the weather was less than ideal, we managed to get some beautiful photographs of the couple at various locations and different outfits too! Planning different outfits is something you might want to keep in mind while planning your engagement session. It allows for some change in your photos and helps you blend in with different settings too. Ashley's casual jeans and pullover looked great for the pictures we took around the town, but once we moved to the more natural setting of the preserve, her dress perfectly complemented the environment.

Engagement Sessions with Love By Joe Mac

Ashley and Ben, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be your engagement photographer. Thank you for being such troopers and not letting the weather play spoilsport. It was heartwarming to see you two still completely committed to celebrating your love despite the cold weather. Don't let that ever fade away! I wish you both a happy life together!

If these photographs have inspired you to also go for an engagement session, then you can fill up this contact form, and we can set something up for you! You can also check out more of my work on my website, Instagram or Facebook
